About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in automation, Linux administration, and networking to join our dynamic System Engineering team.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and automating our infrastructure and service delivery, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Working closely with our Systems Engineering Team, this role requires strong problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to system improvements, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Manage, maintain and optimise the seamless operation and availability of new and existing infrastructure.
Lead and manage the patching of Linux and Windows Infrastructure
Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving software, hardware and networking issues on internal and client systems.
Engage in system monitoring, redundancy, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible and Packer.
Automate system provisioning, configuration management, and maintenance deployments.
Work closely with the core System Admin, Security, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration and reliability of services.
Document infrastructure, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for internal use.
Researching and evaluating new technologies/solutions to problems.
Required Experience
5+ years Linux System Administration Experience.
Strong expertise in networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, Firewalls).
Proven experience in Automation and Configuration management (Ansible, Packer, Terraform).
Proficiency in Scripting (Bash, Python and Powershell).
Central Authentication Exposure (LDAP + AD/Entra management).
Exposure to on-prem server deployment (VMWare, KVM, MaaS).
Source Control (Git).
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Proven ability to independently manage projects from concept to completion.
Desirable Experience
Windows administration.
Hands-on experience with network and server hardware.
Experience working with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
Exposure to industry security practises.
Exposure to CI/CD tooling (BitBucket, Jenkins).
Database Administration (MySQL, InfluxDB, Prometheus).
Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
Experience with Agile methodologies.
