Network Architect
About Beeks
Beeks Group is a leading managed cloud provider exclusively within financial markets. Our Infrastructure-as-a-Service model is optimised for low-latency private cloud compute, connectivity and analytics, providing the flexibility to deploy and connect to exchanges, trading venues and public cloud for a true hybrid cloud experience.
Founded in 2011, Beeks Group is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE: BKS) and has enjoyed continued growth each year. Beeks Group now employs over 100 team members across the globe and have an international network of over thirty data centres.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Network Architect to join us at our unique Head Office in Renfrew which includes our state-of-the-art gym with weekly circuit training, a personal trainer and yoga classes as well as the Beeks Bar or weekly masseuse to help you unwind!
About the Role
The Network Architect will lead the design, evolution, and automation of Beeks’ global connectivity across multiple data centres and international sites.
You will be responsible for defining and implementing Beeks’ service provider–class architecture, leveraging SRv6-based traffic engineering, network automation, and multi-tenant carrier services to deliver resilient, high-throughput infrastructure that underpins our financial trading and cloud connectivity platforms.
Working closely with the Technical Director, Head of Architecture, and wider engineering teams, this role combines strategic architectural design with hands-on technical leadership in the deployment and control of next-generation network technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership
- Define and own the end-to-end network architecture roadmap covering data centre, metro, and global backbone environments.
- Design and maintain a carrier-grade service provider infrastructure, supporting multi-tenant services such as L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN, and internet transit/peering.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, network governance frameworks, and technology lifecycles.
- Act as the principal authority for network architecture decisions, design reviews, and vendor technology selection.
Design & Implementation
- Design and oversee deployment of SRv6-based traffic engineering architectures, delivering deterministic, latency-optimised paths for critical workloads.
- Implement end-to-end service orchestration and automation, ensuring all network configuration, provisioning, and telemetry functions are software-driven and controller-managed.
- Architect and deploy overlay and underlay networks (VXLAN/EVPN, MPLS, SRv6) across multi-site environments.
- Support development of multi-tenant ISP-style services (IP Transit, Peering, Private L2/L3 Services, Cloud On-ramps).
- Contribute to PoP design, capacity planning, and interconnect strategy across global data centres and carrier-neutral facilities.
Automation & Control
- Lead the adoption of automation frameworks and SDN controllers to manage configuration, policy enforcement, and traffic engineering.
- Develop programmable infrastructure using Python, Ansible, and REST/gRPC APIs.
- Implement telemetry, intent-based networking, and closed-loop automation to enhance visibility and operational efficiency.
Governance & Support
- Act as final escalation point for complex design or performance-related incidents.
- Contribute to the Change Advisory Board (CAB), ensuring all architectural changes follow controlled processes.
- Mentor engineering staff and develop internal best practices for network design and automation.
- Collaborate with carriers, cloud providers, and partners to align global service delivery.
Key Objectives
- Deliver a highly automated, service provider–class SRv6 infrastructure with end-to-end traffic engineering control.
- Maintain ultra-high availability and predictable latency across all client environments.
- Drive network evolution toward full software-defined control and policy-driven automation.
- Enable scalable, multi-tenant network services that align with Beeks’ growth strategy.
Skills & Experience Required
Certifications
- Juniper Expert Level Certification (JNCIE-SP, JNCIE-ENT) or equivalent Cisco/Arista expert accreditation (CCIE Service Provider, Arista ACE-Expert).
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of carrier/ISP-grade routing architectures, including BGP, IS-IS/OSPF, MPLS, SR/SRv6, and traffic engineering principles.
- Experience designing and operating multi-tenant service provider environments with L2VPN/L3VPN delivery.
- Proven expertise with VXLAN/EVPN data centre fabrics and integration with underlay SRv6 transport.
- Strong understanding of Juniper EX/QFX and SRX platforms, with experience in large-scale deployments.
- Knowledge of optical transport (DWDM), including optical budgeting and link engineering.
- Background in low-latency trading or financial infrastructure advantageous.
Automation & Software Control
- Hands-on experience implementing network automation and orchestration (e.g. Ansible, Python, Salt, NetConf/YANG, or Juniper Apstra).
- Familiarity with SDN controllers, telemetry systems, and traffic engineering controllers for SRv6 environments.
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD workflows and monitoring systems.
Strategic & Leadership Skills
- Ability to translate business and performance objectives into architectural strategy.
- Experienced in producing design documentation, technical standards, and capacity roadmaps.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and leadership within multi-disciplinary technical teams.
