We have a fantastic opportunity for a Service Delivery Engineer to join us at our unique Head Office in Renfrew which includes our state-of-the-art gym with weekly circuit training, a personal trainer and yoga classes as well as the Beeks Bar or weekly masseuse to help you unwind!
Role Overview
We are seeking a technically capable and delivery focused Service Delivery Engineer. In this role, you will be dedicated to implementing client projects, executing deployments across networking, virtualisation, cloud, and hosting platforms.
This is a project only role and does not involve BAU escalations. You’ll work closely with the projects team to carry out well-defined technical tasks and ensure smooth, timely, and secure delivery of infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Project Implementation
• Deliver small network and server infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
• Install, configure, and upgrade Windows & Linux Server environments
• Build, deploy, and maintain DS Infrastructure.
• Implement and support network changes including switches, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless networks
• Configure and manage firewall rules, VPNs, and secure network access
• Carry out server and network refresh, migration, and upgrade activities
• Perform testing, validation, and handover of infrastructure changes into BAU support
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, build guides, and network diagrams
• Identify and escalate technical risks, dependencies, and issues within small projects
• Work with third-party vendors and internal teams during project delivery
• Ensure all changes follow agreed change management and security processes
Project Participation
• Attend project handover and kick off sessions to understand technical scope and deliverables.
• Maintain accurate task progress and update technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform environment testing, verification, and post-deployment validation as required
• Responsible for all handover into support documentation
Collaboration
• Work under the direction of Project Managers to meet technical milestones and deadlines.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams for dependencies and handoffs.
• Provide clear and timely updates on task status, blockers, and resource requirements.
Skills & Experiences Required
• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering or technical change / project delivery roles.
• Proficient in the deployment and configuration of:
• DS machines and operating systems
• Networking elements such as switches, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs
• Juniper switching and routing platforms (preferred)
• Cisco networking, including NX-OS
• Juniper firewalls and Linux firewalls (using iptables and/or nftables)
• VPN technologies, including Juniper IPSec VPNs and StrongSwan
• Windows Server 2019, 2022, 2025
• Linux operating systems, primarily Ubuntu, with exposure to Rocky Linux, CentOS, and Red Hat
• Experience using and supporting virtualisation platforms, including VMware vSphere/ESXi or other KVM-based hypervisors.
• Understanding of common project lifecycle phases and technical delivery workflows.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation habits.
Desired Skills
• Experience working in a client delivery or professional services environment.
• Knowledge of private cloud, hybrid networks, or hosted financial platforms.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Juniper JNCIA, VMware VCP, or similar.
• Networking Certifications such as Juniper JNCIA (preferred) or Cisco CCNA.
• Familiarity with project tools such as Jira or Confluence.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good planning, organisation, and time-management skills
• Detail-oriented with a security-first mindset
